Hello Fellow Painters!
This year is moving along at a rapid pace. Spring weather one day and an ice storm the next, it is difficult to tell the time of year. We must stop a moment and catch our breath.
This past December we had a nice turn out at our winter show at Strathmore Mansion, Bethesda. Our juror was Barbara Nuss, a local watercolorist. Congratulations are in order for our winners. Carolyn Grosse Gawarecki won first prize for her “Fountain Gossips”; Concetta Scott was awarded the second prize for “Saved from the Frost”; and I, Barbara Weiss was awarded the third prize for “Where the Brook Begins”. We also awarded three honorable mentions: Millie S. Shott, Marie Shaughnessy and Connie Boland. I thank all of you who entered for making it such a fine show.
We have accepted four new members to our ranks. Please join me in welcoming them when we next meet.
We will hold our annual meeting and luncheon in the spring. Information will be sent to you via the mail. New officers and committee members will be needed for the following year. If you are interested please be sure to attend. I have enjoyed my term as President of this fine organization and look forward to its further development. We will need people to contribute time and ideas to make WWCA a viable organization

Please note that our old web address www.WashingtonWaterColor.org" has expired and is no longer valid for use. Our new web address is www.WashingtonWaterColor.com. The change to a .com should prove to be beneficial for us because when someone is looking for a website, they normally use the .com. With this change we will be able to provide space for all our members to have a personal page if desired. This change will also be helpful because both the domain name and the hosting service will be handled by one company.
Any member wanting to be represented on our site may do so by sending me your bio, your URL if you have one, and up to four photos of your work. I'd be happy to create a page for you for a stipend of $10.
Remember www.WashingtonWaterColor.com is your website and should reflect the organizations happenings. At the present time there are only 11 members represented on it.
Photos of recent award winning paintings will be put on the site free of charge. Just send them to me.
We've had many visitors to the site and inquiries have been made about membership, past members and
their art.
Hope you visit our site and like what you see.
