Barbara’s creative talents started at 8 years old when she took all the bugle beads and pearls from her Mother’s wedding gown to make a play dress. Subsequent discipline squelched her designing ambitions. Her interest in painting started in the early 1980’s when she moved to Northern Virginia. Water Color became Barbara’s dominate artistic outlet in 1989. Although largely self taught, she has studied with local artists and has taken several workshops with nationally recognized artists.
"I find working in water color very relaxing and rewarding. When painting I feel an inner peace. Although I consider myself a value painter, you will find that vibrant and intense colors play an important part in expressing the mood of the subject. My goal is to take the viewer to another plane, even if its for just a few moments in time."
