Barbara Skallerup Weiss is a long time resident of Chevy Chase, Maryland. She is a graduate of The Philadelphia College of Art, now known as the University of the Arts.
Barbara has worked in many different media and has had her work juried by such notable artists as Margaret Kranking, James Hillary and Scott Habes. Her work has been exhibited in the galleries of Strathmore Mansion, Kentlands, Glenview Mansion and Friendship Heights. She is a member of The Rehoboth Art League and the Rockville Art League. She is presently the President of The Washington Watercolor Association, an institution founded in 1896. Barbara is an active participant in the Drawing for Art Program at Strathmore Mansion and she enjoys working with children in Strathmore's Summer Art Camp. Barbara continues to work with the Visual Arts Department of Strathmore Mansion.
